Opened in 1924 and extensively renovated in 2003, Soldier Field is the oldest NFL stadium still in use, but it has a storied legacy in soccer as well. A landmark moment came during the 1994 FIFA World Cup, when it hosted the tournament’s opening ceremony and the first match between Germany and Bolivia. The event was marked by a memorable performance by Diana Ross, who famously missed a ceremonial penalty kick during her act.
